Hello! I'm Mónica, a Spanish teacher and DELE examiner accredited by the Instituto Cervantes.
Behind this website, there's a lot of learning, hard work, and enthusiasm for sharing my knowledge and spreading my passion to those who wish either to learn and improve their Spanish or teach it to others.
I have degrees in Journalism and Political Science, and I've completed various master's programs before entering the exciting world of teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE), earning my master's degree from the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja. Yes, I love studying! I never minded combining it with work. For 20 years I was a journalist at Radio Nacional de España. I've told stories, conducted interviews, reports, and shared both good and bad news. I've always sought a "human face" journalism, just as I do in my classes. In them (and on this website), you will always find surprising topics, though connected to real life or some traditions in Spain.
It was in 2020 that I decided to start my own business as a Spanish teacher. But let me tell you a bit more about myself. I was born in Switzerland to Spanish parents. I grew up in Barcelona, although I've lived in Melilla, Luxembourg, Madrid, Logroño, and Athens, places which I keep in my in heart for good. Besides Spanish, I speak English, French, Catalan, and a little Italian, though my favorite language is Modern Greek, which I speak at an advanced level (yes, you read that right!).
I offer individual and personalized online classes, as well as small group classes. What truly satisfies me is seeing my students to achieve their goals: their successes are my successes, whether it's passing an official exam, advancing their careers, pursuing a master's degree, moving to a different country, or understanding their favorite Spanish songs and series without subtitles.
As a DELE teacher and examiner accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, I am ready to share my knowledge with you.
